Rhino poaching
In some countries, people cut off the rhino horns but not to the point were the
rhino dies. They do this to keep poachers from killing the rhino. The Javan and Sumatran rhinos are at critical risk but the white and Asian rhinos are endangered.
Around 335 rhinos were killed in 2010 and more than 290 were killed in 2011.
The most endangered rhinos are the Javan and Sumatran. However, they are smaller than the others. They are more endangered because either their horns are more valuable, or that they can’t protect them self like the other big rhinos.
162 rhinos were killed only in South Africa and Zimbabwe in 2008.
These kills have been against law. So the killers are hunting these rhinos illegally.
People are so ignorant that a kilogram of a rhino horn is worth around $60,000 (around 220,000 QR) and a regular African rhino’s horn weighs around 1.6 kilograms. These poachers look at this as a profit and they keep on killing rhinos for their horns. The Javan and Sumatran rhinos are the most endangered because they live in the Indonesian forest and they can’t reproduce as fast as the other rhinos because they can’t find another mate.

How to stop/reduce the amount of poaching?
We can't just go to the poachers and tell them they need to stop because they won't due to human's ego. So we should make a global protest that would inform the people who buy rhino horns to stop buying them and that rhinos are almost extinct, that they dont give them any additional health care or power. If the buyers stop, so will the poachers. The poachers will stop because there's no point on going out there and risking your life to kill a rhino if you're gonna sell it for cheap or not sell it at all.
